Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
As we age many of us are increasingly concerned about our external
appearance. Oftentimes the way we look, or perceive that we look,
affects the way we feel. For this reason we are resorting to creams,
injections, peels, and even surgery to help feel better about
ourselves. Many patients will ask me advice on these methods. Although
I truly feel that beauty is more than skin deep, I also recognize that
helping patients feel better about their appearance will help mitigate
other health problems. For this reason I offer a different approach to
beauty treatments, one that helps people feel better inside and out.
Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is the use of acupuncture to treat
both the external signs and internal causes of facial aging. It
creates results similar to that of botox, filler injections, and laser
treatments without the use of toxic or foreign substances.
In 1996 the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported
that among 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked
effects with one course of treatment.
What types of changes do patients experience?
- Tightening and lifting of sagging skin
- Improvement of skin color and texture
- Reduction of wrinkles and puffiness
- Enhancement of beauty while promoting overall health
How does it work?
Acupuncture can increase the synthesis of collagen and aids in its
dispersal decreasing lines and wrinkles and firming up skin. It also
increases the circulation of blood, lymph, and "qi" to the area
helping to improve the complexion of the face. Metabolism can improve
which helps to eliminate puffiness. Finally, since Acupuncture
stimulates the body's ability to heal itself, patients commonly report
an increased sense of well-being and a reduction in other symptoms as
well.
